Phoebe "Phoe" Shroeder is a member of the Earth Clan. He surprisingly able to transform into a werewolf, despite born as a female. Currently suffering from partial amnesia, Phoebe cannot remember his own name; she goes by an alias given to him by his former human caretaker.
History[]
Phoebe was born to parents of the Earth Clan, who discovered she had atavism and thus a rare female werewolf. To keep her safe from being used as a breeder for the clan, she was raised to believe she was a boy.
At some point she came into the care of Pack 42, where the women respected Phoe had been raised to see herself as a male. However, the werewolves previously employed by Ronzeman discovered her location and attacked to capture her. Phoe escaped with the help of Cal's mother, scarring one of her pursuers in the process. The trauma caused Pho to develop amnesia and she somehow ended up in Manhattan. She was found by a paraplegic veteran who took her in and gave Phoe her name; he went by the name Holden. To make money, they sold comics and action figures to people in the underground.
Personality[]
Phoebe is a smug and tomboyish girl; she self-considers herself "one of the guys" to the point she attends P.E. with the boys. She has a notable distain for girly things like skirts, reflected her school uniform, where she chooses a boy's uniform. Yuuhi explained that Phoebe has "gender dysphoria", due to being raised as a boy her whole life ; however, Phoebe IS aware that physically, she is different. Due to this Phoebe is partially confused about her sexuality, having been mentioned to have a weakness for pretty girls; though she has been shown to be flustered being around Yuuhi. However, when it comes to being naked, she has no problem being around Yuuhi, Cal and Aaron during the trial, but blushes at the thought of Tatiana when she mentions she didn't transform to avoid being naked.
Despite Tatiana placing seeds of doubt and mistrust towards the Earth Clan, Phoebe comes to trust Yuuhi, Cal and Aaron, who adamantly refuse to allow Phoebe to be used by the clan like previous female werewolves. Phoebe was even touched thaT Yuuhi truly respected her gender identity and took it upon himself to look girly to compliment her boyish looks. She fully accepted him as her intwined branch, learning he simply wanted a meaningful bond with someone; Phoe felt it was like they were destined to meet when they first met in New York as he did.
Phoebe has a strong sense of confidence. While prone to minor aggression when agitated, Phoebe isn't heartless as she quickly became empathic to Cal's plight. She is not without a rude sense of humor. Phoebe is quick to bond with Yuuhi, who truly understands her.

- Phoebe seems to be a fan of Disney.
- Pho's identity and backstory is loaded with tricks and twists by the author.
- Anyone could immediately guess Pho's cisgender, but everyone used male pronouns for Pho; tricking them into thinking he was just a girly-looking boy with an unfortunately matching name.
- The destruction of Pack 42 and the rogue werewolves going after Pho is originally presented as a simple genocide for those loyal to Mina; when it's revealed Pho is a female werewolf with atavism, it takes a horrifying turn when its obvious other werewolves want to use her like Tatiana said.
- Pho hasn't developed breasts yet, so it's easy for her to be mistaken for male topless; the show scene with Yuuhi also blocks the "evidence" that wouldn't be shown until the rite of pasaage.
- She is the first female to be put through the Beowulf rite of passage.
- Unfortunately, she also experiences her first period during that time, leaving her very weak. Though she starts getting better by the third day.
- The reason Phoebe was raised as and to think of herself as a boy was to keep her from being used as as a breeding stock what used to happen any female werewolves of the Earth Clan. Though this ultimately proved pointless as Mina had abolished the barbaric act; thus Phoe had to go through a confusing gender dysphoria for nothing.
- Pho is slow to realize things. Such as Yuuhi's gender and why Tatiana knew so much about werewolves.
- Phoebe will likely have basic female biology explained to her, along with instructions on how to deal with it properly. Considering werewolves age slower than humans (with their lifespans reaching centuries), Pho will have to deal with this for quite a few more decades than a human woman would.
- Depending on how things turn out, Pho may embrace her natural gender in later; since she feels protected and accepted by Beowulf, whom never use her. Plus if if does happen like this, her offspring would be strong not only from her atavism, but from being of the Regendorf bloodline (as she already feels a bond with Yuuhi).
- If not, Pho would at least would have an ovaectomy to be rid of periods.
